Do I Need a Website for MaxBounty? 5 BIG Mistakes!

MaxBouty is a Cost Per Action (CPA) affiliate network that has been around since 2004. The challenge is it can be difficult to be accepted into the network and there are pitfalls you should avoid.

Someone doesn’t need a website for MaxBounty, but it’s “very” nice to have!

Keep reading and I’ll share 5 things you have to say to get accepted into the program, 5 pitfalls to avoid with this business, 4 ways to promote their links, and how MaxBounty makes money.

Why Do MaxBounty CPA Affiliate Marketing?

Maxbounty is a great tool in your arsenal as an affiliate marketer. They also have many different ways of paying you such as…

  • CPA (Cost Per Action) – This means you get paid if someone clicks on your link. Usually, this involves an action such as signing up to someone’s email list.
  • Revenue Sharing – This means you get a percentage of the revenue.
  • Per Sale – You can get paid for every sale you generate a company.

MaxBounty earns money from advertisers and passes some of that payment to affiliates.

Like “every” affiliate marketplace some offers are better than others. The bad news with this network is some offers (especially the good ones) have a daily cap on how much you can earn per offer.

The reason for this is some people abuse the network and the people paying for the lead don’t want to waste money.

Also, MaxBounty is strict on who they allow in the network, but some of the offers that pay “a lot” of money are also strict on who they allow.

You might have to do business with some of the offers that don’t pay as much before the better offers will accept you. You might have to earn some “street credibility.”

More bad news is you MUST earn at least $100 to get paid from the network. At this point, you may be wondering why EVEN bother with this network.

The reason is some offers are really good! One offer for example could be Nutrisystem which will pay $200 per lead.

You could earn $200 and someone doesn’t EVEN have to buy something! Crazy stuff right?

How Often does MaxBounty Payout?

You start out getting paid on the 15th day of the next month. Then when you start to earn money you will get paid weekly.

MaxBounty uses the following methods to pay affiliates.

  • Check
  • Intercash (It’s like Paypal from the UK)
  • eCheck
  • ACH (automatic clearing house)
  • Wire

How to Get Accepted into MaxBounty?

If you apply for this affiliate network there are a few questions you HAVE to answer right!

What’s your experience? Pick the options where you have some experience have received at least 1 payment. MaxBounty does NOT accept brand new affiliate marketers.

Describe your past experience with Affiliate marketing? When you answer this question you want to list ALL the experiences you have ever had. The more the better!

How do you promote offers? List how you will be promoting them! It could be social media, search, paid traffic, email, or something else.

What campaigns are you looking for? A good answer could email submits and free sample offers.

Is this account for incentive traffic? You HAVE To answer NO! They don’t want incentive traffic. This is where you pay people to fill stuff out and the lead isn’t as good.

Include Website Address? If you don’t have a website you can put a social media account like your Youtube channel or Linkedin Profile.

You also have to promise not to sell your MaxBounty account and NOT send fake traffic to offers. Lastly, you have to talk to someone over the phone to get accepted into the program.

When I did the phone interview it lasted 1 minute and I was asked 2 questions.

  • How are you going to get traffic?
  • What niches are you going to target?

Oh, and you also have to take a picture of some type of photo ID.

Largest Pitfalls to Make with MaxBounty?

One of the largest pitfalls someone can make (not just with MaxBounty) is by always consuming information and never producing.

You will earn NO money if you don’t produce content online. It doesn’t matter if the content is video, written, paid ads, email, or social.

Don’t get me wrong I’m open-minded to improve and I’m always learning. When you do learn something it’s good to put it in action “in the real world” and see what happens.

Marketers get paid to fail! Not to constantly be consuming information and overthinking everything.

The second-largest mistake you can make is having short-term thinking. This means doing stuff that will make you a quick buck today, but get you banned and hurt you in the long run.

An example of this could be to use a VPN to complete and fill out your own leads online for money (don’t do this).

I know this rule firsthand because I used to do “a lot” of black hat techniques, and the white hat guys passed me up like I was standing still (actually I went backward). Black hat means I was doing stuff to trick the search engines and it hurt me in the long run.

This whole topic of long-term thinking can go MUCH deeper. This is why email marketing “can” work better than just sticking affiliate links in posts (if you know what you’re doing).

The money in “anything” is going deep NOT shallow! In fact…

All self-help is thinking long term!

The third mistake is to be arrogant and not learn from people better than you. I’ve been guilty of this in many areas (one was crypto because I thought it was stupid).

Being open-minded and learning from people that (have gotten real-world results) can really shorten the learning curve.

The 4th mistake I’m going to say is to get too greedy. Pigs get fat and hogs get slaughtered! I learned this lesson the hard way with domains by pricing some WAY to high and them not selling.

It also works with affiliate marketing.

Bigger CPA rates are not always better. Sometimes lesser payouts convert better. Smaller payouts usually require less effort required from a user to earn money. Plus if you’re new, then you’re going to see momentum and money and this can help with motivation.

Start small and work your way up to bigger payouts!

The 5th mistake is never applying to MaxBounty or not answering the questions right when you do apply. Getting into the program is the first step and usually, the first step is the hardest.

How do I promote MaxBounty Offers?

There really are 4 main ways to promote offers online and this is paid ads, email, content marketing, and social media.

Sure there are things like messaging (I used to do a lot), but they land in one of these buckets! I’m a HUGE fan of content marketing and here is why!

  • It’s free
  • You do the work once and get paid forever.
  • Can leverage the crap out of it (more on this later).
  • Helps you gain credibility.
  • Plus it helps you learn stuff.
  • It also can be fun!

When I mean you can leverage content marketing this means you can take content from 1 source (like a blog) and turn it into videos and a podcast. You could even submit the blog to multiple places for MORE views and traffic!

I prefer to start with a blog I own because I OWN it. If you put content on Youtube or Linkedin you don’t own it and you’re playing in someone else’s sandbox where they make the rules.

With a website you own, you can also earn MORE money from ads and you can sell the blog in the future if you want. It’s truly an asset you can leverage.

If you don’t want to own a website you can still do content marketing on Youtube, Medium, TikTok, and many other platforms.

You don’t NEED a website to earn money with MaxBounty. Any traffic method can work without a website even email and paid ads. They are just better with a website you own!

Most people use paid ads when it comes to MaxBounty. It’s good to have some type of landing page to presale whatever offer.

With paid ads for example you could always direct traffic to a Youtube video or Linkedin post where you explain why the offer rocks and then put the affiliate link in the description.

You can promote any affiliate offer you want (there is an endless supply), but I prefer to recommend products I have used and that have helped me.

There are also TONS of different software you could use for a landing page, but I think it’s better to focus on copywriting because that is going to help you convert and without this HERE, I guarantee you will lose money in affiliate marketing.

Social Media is a mixed bag and can be MORE challenging. I’ve had a lot of success with Twitter using this Method HERE and have also had success just IM (very targeted people) on Facebook.

Linkedin and TikTok are also “wonderful” platforms that have worked “really great” for me.

Conclusion

Affiliate marketing is a wonderful tool that we all can use to better our lives. The important thing is to take action and always be learning.
