After being in the domain business for many years I was curious about slogans and if there was money in them. I was also curious about how to come up with a slogan, where to sell them, and if it was worth it.
You can earn anywhere between $5 to $999 per slogan!
Keep reading and I’ll share the 2 ways to earn money with slogans, 2 nifty tools that can help you create a slogan, what a slogan is, and 4 additional ways to earn money from them.
How to Earn Cash Writing Slogans?
There are 2 main ways to earn money with slogans.
- Slogan Contests
- Freelance Services
A popular way many companies get a slogan is to have a contest. They pick the slogan they like best and if it’s yours then you can earn up to $999.
One website that has these contests ALL the time is this one HERE.
Another idea is to Google “slogan contest” and in the current year, you could discover many other places to get paid for your slogan idea.
Apart from startups and companies looking for slogans, even nonprofits and government agencies do look for them.
The second way to earn money with slogans is by enrolling in freelance websites and offering your services.
You probably know that this site HERE is the most popular one and where the largest audience is. What you may not know is there are many smaller freelance sites with less traffic, but also have less competition.
I recommend fishing in ALL places because you just don’t know. The more places you fish the more likely you will catch something. Here is a list of many smaller freelancer sites.

Is a Slogan a Logo?
A slogan is a short catchy phrase of words. A logo is an image that is instantly recognized.
A slogan and a logo do go together nicely. A classic example would be the Nike logo and the slogan Just do it.
I did read the book Shoe Dog HERE about Phil Knight who created the company Nike and it’s a great book “I highly recommend it .” The slogan actually comes from someone who was about to get executed and he said “just do it.”
A slogan is more than just a set of words, it’s used to persuade someone to buy a product more on an emotional level and that is difficult to put into words.
You could think of a slogan as everything the business is about in a few short words. You can see why they can be worth SO much money.
Figuring out these catchy words is the difficult part!
Another example would be the company Allstate “your in good hands.” The slogan sums up everything about the business right?
There is “a lot” more to slogans and I recommend this resource HERE for ideas on how to earn money with them.
If you’re not sure what a domain is it’s a website address and there is only 1 of them ever. In order for someone to have a website they need a domain name.
The cool thing about a domain name is it’s one of the ONLY things online that you can own (then there is crypto, which is a whole other topic).
How Much Does it Cost to Create a Slogan?
If you hire someone to create a slogan it can cost anywhere between $5 to $999 dollars. If you create your own slogan it doesn’t have to cost any money.
The first step in coming up with a slogan is to ask a few questions.
- What exactly are you selling?
- Who would purchase your product? (Ideal customer)
- Is this a startup?
Next, come up with a short amount of words that describe what your company does.
Now, that you have come up with a few read them aloud back to yourself. When you hear it does the slogan make you curious about the company or want to buy the product? If so, then that’s a good sign.
There are 2 websites that can help you come up with ideas.
The website OpenAI has gotten insanely popular lately. The problem is the website crashes so much due to how popular it is and many people are trying to figure out a way to earn money using it.
Another website that can help you come up with ideas is this one HERE. What you want to do is scroll to the very bottom and click on business tools.
Then inside the business tools you have to keep scrolling until you find the slogan generator. This tool can give you ideas on coming up with a slogan for a business.
These tools can help, but your own brain and experience should override anything. Also, remember that all you have to do is combine things to be creative.
Hopefully, that might be of some help.
How to Earn More Money with Slogans?
You can earn more money selling a slogan by combining it with a logo, domain, and more services!
The way to earn money with slogans just like with ANY business is to combine things. A very long time ago I used to work at the retail company Best Buy and this was the business model.
If someone wanted a printer then they probably want ink, paper, a USB chord, a computer, and even a table.
I do the same with blogging because I combine it with Youtube, Tiktok, Linkedin, and many other media channels.
One thing you could do is combine a slogan with a logo because they go together perfectly. The bad news with logos is their graphic design. There are free places to do it, but sometimes it’s better to pay for a tool just to make your life easier.
However, I would recommend a free tool to start. For the logo, I created on my website I used LogoMakr.com, which does work.
For a paid tool there is something like this HERE, that is designed to make it as easy as possible to create a logo.
Remember the key to business is to put yourself in profit as cheaply as you can then re-invest your profits with shiny new tools to make your life easier.
Another thing you can add to slogans and logos is a domain. The domain business is tricky because they cost money to hold.
After being involved in domains for MANY years my #1 advice would be to make the price VERY cheap to start. Buy VERY good domains and make the price “Super Low” to gain confidence. Plus, by selling them quickly you don’t have to worry about paying the renewal fees.
If you are interested in getting into domains I did create a post HERE that I feel can be very helpful.
If you are wondering where to sell the logos, domains, and slogans this place HERE is one idea.
The fourth way to earn more money from slogans is to combine them with blogging, Youtube, or both. With blogging all you have to do is document your journey and nearly “every” business as an affiliate program where you can earn some extra money.
In ALL honesty affiliate marketing and blogging have been one of the easiest ways to earn money that I’ve found.
I’ve been doing affiliate marketing for over 10 years and I’m giving away a free eBook about it that I feel can help HERE.
Conclusion
Lastly, you can trademark a slogan, which keeps others from using it.
The cost to trademark something is between $200 – $400 dollars. It takes 6 months to receive a response if you apply and it’s good for 10 years.
Usually, it’s a good idea to hire a lawyer for the trademark process. If you want more legal information on trademarks this website HERE, may be of help and I’m not a lawyer.
I hope this blog post on slogans was helpful. Bye for now.
